Sworn translations in September: what to know before you order

September is peak time for cross-border paperwork.
Visa renewals, school or university enrolments, internships, work contracts, family procedures, even late-summer weddings — many of these require official translations by a sworn translator authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Here’s a quick guide so you can plan ahead and avoid delays.
What is a sworn translation?
A sworn (certified) translation carries legal validity and is signed and sealed by an authorised sworn translator in Spain. It’s accepted by public bodies and private institutions. Typical uses include: birth certificates, academic transcripts and diplomas, marriage or divorce documents, employment contracts, criminal record certificates, social security records, and more.
Documents that often need a sworn translation
Academic records and diplomas for studies or professional recognition abroad
Police/Criminal record certificates
Birth and marriage certificates
Employment contracts for temporary or seasonal work
Notarial documents for family or property matters
Plan ahead before autumn rush
Last-minute requests are common and can cause hold-ups. We recommend placing your order in advance. Turnaround usually ranges from 2 to 5 working days, depending on language pair and page count.
Most requested languages
Besides Spanish and English, we regularly handle sworn translations in Catalan, French, Italian, German, Dutch, Portuguese, and community languages such as Ukrainian or Punjabi.
How to order with confidence
Scan your document clearly (or take a sharp photo if you don’t have a scanner).
Check if legalisation is required (e.g., a Hague Apostille).
Send it to Easy Translations — we’ll confirm any format requirements.
We’ll provide a quote and deadline. Once approved, you’ll receive the signed and sealed translation, and paper originals if needed.
